Volunteers (2016) presents three interconnected scenes that explore how individuals behave in mutually beneficial relationships. Two men discuss the bdsm role-play they’ve just finished, an employer is coerced into taking on extra work and a woman volunteers as a body for a massage training class. Interweaved with song, these scenes investigate how codependent and manipulative behaviour might be a useful way of thinking about exchanges between performer and audience,
